I recommend Chiropractic to many of the clients I see, especially for backs, neck, and headaches. The fact is I can treat all day long, but if the skeletal integrity is off, the muscles and soft tissues attached to them will be in dysfunction. In like manor, I believe that people can be adjusted on a regular basis, but if they do not also address the soft tissue attached, those vertebra will continue to pull them out of alignment. It is all about BALANCE.
I have been receiving Chiropractic since I was 16 years old (first car accident) . In that time I have seen a few Chiro's and appreciated the difference between them. Some Chiropractors will only adjust your atlas and axis (the first two vertebra in your neck). They believe that if those bones are aligned that the rest will follow suit. That doesn't seem like a balanced approach to me. Sometimes my low back is out and I need a lumbar adjustment, no bones about it. I have seen Chiropractors that put you on a payment plan and schedule you weekly treatments from here to Kingdom Come, I don't see that as a balanced approach either. I feel that too many adjustments can make you hyper-mobile, meaning the more your vertebra are moved, the more they will move (to me that's just common sense, talk to Newton about that)
Several years ago I was introduced to a lovely couple, Frank and Nasly Lopez, owners of Team Lopez Chiropractic. This Dynamic Duo balanced each other out so well. Frank, being well rooted in Sports Chiropractic assessed my body each and every time I came to the office, adjusting even my wrists, shoulders, hips, or ankles if they were out. Frank's wife Nasly treats pregnant mothers and children with a very gentle approach, she's always good for a hug as well. They are quite literally a life-saver to me on a regular basis when my body gets out of alignment. Their philosophy seems to be focused on getting people better, then
providing maintenance. They have grown their practice from the word of mouth referrals of people like me who appreciate what they have to offer, now THAT'S a balanced approach.
If you are experiencing back, neck, hip, shoulder pain, headaches, or joint pain in general, take a look at what treatments could help bring your body back in balance. My regimen includes Chiropractic, Massage, and Craniosacral Therapy, along with self treatment of yoga, aromatherapy, and breath. These tools are a dynamic combination that keep my body going strong. That's good news for my clients:)
